Recently I visited Heidenheim. On a lunch break we had a meal in a resteraunt in the town. I noticed a stuffed animal sat in a corner of the resteraunt. I was told it was a 'wupperdinger', I realise that the animal had been made from several parts of different animals and birds. Earlier this year I was working in Timelkam in Austria and enquired about the 'Wupperdinger' and was informed it was a mythical creature from Bavaria. Where can I purchase a 'Wupperdinger'. Can you buy these as gifts?
I am prepared to pay the cost of having one sent to England for my daughters birthday.

my husband and i will be travelling to family in Holland in august and then in september we would like to take the train and travel to the Alps just follow our nose get out of the train where we like it but really, we need to plan it al least a bit and were wondering if anyone can give us some nice suggestions we are not the 5 stars type we just like things cosy,friendly and clean originally i am from holland and when i was 9 yrs old we went to stay in a tiny town called Berwang which was lovely and i really would love to visit it again but does anyone have any nice suggestions for other places to visit, stay, experience i don't know where to start as i am sure that we are going to love it all best regards from inge, sydney, australia

I spent two great years as a GI in Munich, took my discharge there and roamed Europe for 4 months and fell in love with the continent. I came back to the states, met and married and then moved to Munich where we remained for 4 years. All this 1958 --65. Since I've been back in '85, 91, 92, 93 and am coming back with the love of my new life in September October '01. can't wait. We'll be rambling the south of Bavaria and then with friends (my daughter's exchange parents) in Neumarkt/OPflz. We have 3 weeks....to little time.

My wife and I have been in a festband for about three years, and have become very interested in Bavaria and the Alpine region. We hope that within the next two years we can book a tour that will include the Swiss and Austrian Alps, and of course Bavaria. I would love to sing along with many of the songs our band has been playing, in their place of origin. I have just begun German lessons, so I will not attempt to communicate in German just yet, but I hope to be able to carry on some conversation by the time we get there.
