Great site, wish we could be at the Octoberfest this year. If anyone knows a Juergen and Christina Schien from the Munich area, let us know. We met them in the USA in 1983 and in Munich in 1985, but then we and they(probably) moved and we lost track. They taught us much about Bavaria. Juergen was a member of the 1860 Munchen soccer club, and was playing a number of matches in the US in 1983.

My family came to the U.S.A. from BAYERN, Bavaria starting in the early 1840's until 1870's. My Great Great Great Grandfather Wolfgang Sorgel came to Chicago Illinois in 1870 for a year and at that time he was 83 years old. Five of his sons settled in Chicago Illinois. We will be travelling from Nurenburg around July 12 to directions unknown. We depart again from Frankfurt near the end of the month, giving us 14 or 15 days to travel. I do not know which way to go!
