Hi! I found this site while searching the web for information on Bavaria. I am trying to find a small city, that I believe is
in Bavaria, called Westheim. I want to visit there in April, 2000. My great-grandfather, Johann Heinrich Hahn, is from there
and I understand that my 2nd cousins still live in the house where he was born. There are so many towns called Westheim
in Germany...does anyone know which one I may be looking for? I think it is a very small town of only a few thousand people.

Been there two time's, and coming again next year. Should list on things to see, the Salt mine, believe in Uber Saltsburg. I'll try and stay out of Beer Caves in Adelsdorf, and the Sportshiem. Showed six boys there how to play Baseball, think we are all still laughing. Great people. Even invited to some Birthdays by the locals. Glad my Grandparents came from such a nice place.

Ich kann Besuchern von Deutschland nur raten nach Bayern zu reisen. Es ist der schoenste
staat in Deutschland. Ich sage das nicht nur, weil ich aus Bayern bin. Die Leute sind
extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit (sollten Sie an einen Ruepel gelangen....die gibt es
in jedem Land). Und jetzt das Ganze auf Englisch, damit Leute aus meiner neuen Heimat meinen Eintrag auch lesen koennen.
I can only advise people travelling to Germany to visit Bavaria. It is by far the most beautiful state in the country. I'm not just saying that, because I was born there.
People are extremely friendly and helpful don't give up, if you meet a jerk.....they are
in every country). All I can say is...I'm sure you will enjoy your stay in Bavaria.

I was looking for maps of Bavaria and interested in what the country was like
and looking at your history. I was searching for the city of an ancestor who
migrated to USA around 1850. I was not able to find it. Maybe its name has
changed. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. It is Bayern, Pfalz, Muehlberg
Ander Glan. This is the birth place on an ancestor who has discharge papers
from the army here. Do you have any idea where it is?
Thanks for having your site be the three different languages. It made a whole
lot more sense than guessing at the one for Bremen, although I was able to
figure out some of the words. Is there a web map for Germany that I can go to
that is more detailed than the one I'm getting from the USA? I can access

thence to Berchtesgarden and points between and beyond back to Munich.

I was living in Munich in 1987 and I was really in love with the city.
I think Munich is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. You can find
everything there!! I was learning German in an institute that in that moment
was dependant from the Ludwig-Max. Universität. I was looking for an internet
address from this intitute because I want to contact a someone there but I
could not find anything. Could you help me?
I don´t write this mesage in German because it is a long time that I don´t

'Planning my first visit to Bavaria along with wife (German-speaker and knows north germany well) and 10yr old son this summer. Fly into Munich and then see Bavarian Alps. Information on self-catering apartments and the like welcome near Garmisch perhaps. Plan also to tour into Austria and Switzerland so car-hire advice required as well. Suggestions as to how best experience Bavaria very welcome, with thanks in advance.

We applied for tickets for the Passion Play and were advised that we would
be put on a waiting list as they had no available tickets. We wanted the
second week (May 27-June 3), and will be staying for that week in
Oberstaufen at a timeshare. This is about an hour away we understand.
Is there any way to get tickets without accommodations for this time?

I really enjoy your site. I was stationed with the Air Force in
Kaiserslautern for 6 years and enjoyed the German hospitality and culture.
I'm planning on visiting again this year (Oktoberfest calls). It would be
nice if you had links to towns outside of Munich. I plan on staying in

Just thinking about Bad Aibling and skiing lessons near the Chiemsee back
in the late 70's. Stayed at the Army Hotel at Chiemsee and took downhill
lessons and stayed with friends in Bad Aibling for cross-country lessons.
