LUDWIGSTRAßE
This is Ludwigstraße as everyone knows it, a long
and boring boulevard often abused as drag strip. Very monumental,
without trees nor commerce, it connnects Schwabing and the busy
Leopoldstraße with downtown. The Staatsbibliothek (county
library) and many city and county administrations occupy the
"solid-as-a-rock" buildings.
And here is our suggestion for improvement
Following excellent examples of American cities to promote local
businesses with impressive advertisement, the same technology could be
deployed in this colorless part of town. Many advantages should result
from this bold approach to urban development:
- lower speed of traffic since people look at advertisement
- crush the monotony of administrative buildings
- demonstrate good business sense
- show "bavarian humor"
What do you think ? All suggestions are welcomed.
