It's asparagus month...
Mai and Juin are the two premium months for staging impromptu asparagus extravaganzas. There must be about ten different varieties of green and white asparagus. The locals prefer the thick white one that melts in your mouth, steamed and served with baked potatoes and ham. But pallets have "internationalized" and you will now find thin green one served cold in a vinaigrette as an apetizer. An excellent idea to go see the "Viktualienmarkt" and buy harvest fresh asparagus (which may not be the least inexpensive one you can find).
afficonados from very far away enjoy our server too !
Welcome Francois who despite unstable and crawling satellite internet connections comes regularly for a virtual visit from Tahiti ... hey, if you decide to come in person, we'll be glad to exchange your bottle of water against a superbly refreshing white beer !!
If you'd like to become a member of our "long distance" club, don't wait "no more", send us a funny photo and a few lines, this might just be the beginning of a wonderful new section on our server.
Just in from the ticker: Tahiti no longer has internet access, could this be a political scam or French hysteria about encrypted messages on the net ?

Hopefully spring has come to chase away snow and ice...
After almost five months of winterly weather we had to follow the Münchner rush into the open to enjoy mild temperatures and powerful sun rays. On a brief scouting (bicycle) trip through Munich and the english garden we discovered that the "Aumeister" and the "Chinesicher Turm" - the two well known beer gardens - had brought out tables and benches. People started enjoying their first beers out in the open. Horse drawn carriages were on their way also, what do you know, maybe spring is here to stay.
The birds in the trees definitely believe so, just listen to what they have to say. (50K - wav)

The carnival season is over and Munich can go back to work
Most will have to store away their wild and beautiful costumes and bring back the every day business suit, how boring. The carnival roared for the past seven weeks and people are exhausted, not much time to recover though, the "Starkbier" season starts mid-March.

FINALLY, a full day of sunshine !!!
We still can't believe it, today's is probably Munich's first full day of sunshine since the end of November and almost all of Munich is out there enjoying winter sports such as ice skating on the Nymphenburger channels. December counted a total of 8 hours of sunshine, some of the 750mm of yearly precipitation covers as snow the frozen ground.

The terrifying couple of the month of November
Dont't worry, everything is under control. The terrible two's - D & D from San Francisco - the hottest dudettes in town have briefed us on Halloween rituals in the good ol' USA.
"Hey Donna, who's gonna have your head for supper tonight ?!?...."
